Around May 2025, we found Phos barely holding onto life - a body exhausted, wounded, and clinging to existence by a thread. His story traveled far after it was shared by The Dodo, but what truly matters is not how he was found… it’s who he has become.

Today, Phos is thriving.

His wounds have completely healed. In some areas, his fur will never grow back - silent reminders of the battle he survived. But his body is strong now. Every month he gains healthy weight. His leishmania levels continue to drop and are now inactive. He still needs medication, but he is stable, monitored, and absolutely ready to find his own home.

One of his eyes will never recover. But Phos is not blind. He sees beautifully with his good eye. He runs. He plays. He loves his food. He enjoys the company of other dogs. He embraces life with a gratitude that cannot be taught.

He is currently around 38kg and about 63-64cm tall powerful, steady, and unrecognizable from the fragile dog we once carried in our arms.

Phos does not need pity.
He needs someone whose heart sees beyond appearance.

If you are the kind of person who understands that survival creates a different kind of beauty… Phos might be your perfect match.
