Pepita was found together with her two sisters in a field near Hopeland. The three girls grew up at the shelter, waiting for someone to see in them what we had seen all along.
Over the years, both of Pepita's sisters finally found their forever homes. They were already adults when their families chose them – proof that sometimes the happiest endings simply take a little longer.
Pepita is now the only sister still waiting.
And she deserves her happy ending every bit as much.
Pepita has grown into a wonderful, affectionate, and intelligent dog. As a puppy, she had quite a strong personality and wasn't always the easiest little girl – but she has developed tremendously over the years. Today, she is friendly, attentive, eager to learn, and wonderfully responsive to guidance. She quickly understands what is expected of her and genuinely enjoys working together with people.
She also has a beautifully affectionate side. Pepita loves being stroked and cuddled, enjoys human attention, and has a way of looking at you that makes it very difficult not to fall for her. At the same time, she is playful and enjoys spending time with the other dogs at Hopeland.
Pepita already knows how to walk on a leash. However, her new family will probably need to give her some additional support and guidance at first, as walking in a completely new environment will be another new experience for her. With patience and consistency, she can continue building on everything she has already learned. As she currently lives outdoors at the shelter, she is not yet house-trained and will need to learn the routines of indoor family life. With her intelligence and willingness to learn, however, she already brings wonderful qualities for starting that new chapter together.
At around 60 cm and 28–30 kg, Pepita is a beautiful, impressive girl with an equally big heart.
She has watched both of her sisters leave Hopeland and begin the lives they had waited so long for. Pepita is still here – not because she deserves it any less, but simply because her people haven't found her yet.
Her sisters got their chance.
