Faith

Faith's story began near a soccer field in a small Greek village close to Hopeland. When Natasa found her there, terrified and alone, it was immediately clear that something was terribly wrong. Faith had suffered a severe jaw injury and appeared to have been abandoned in that condition. She was unable to eat normally, bark, or live without pain.

Thankfully, Faith was brought to safety and received the medical care she desperately needed. What followed was a long journey involving four surgeries to treat her jaw and later complications. It wasn't an easy road – but looking at Faith today, you would hardly believe everything she has been through.

Her old injury has left visible changes to the shape of her mouth, and those will always be part of Faith's unique appearance. But in everyday life, they hardly slow her down. Faith eats normally, barks, plays, enjoys her walks, and does all the wonderfully ordinary things dogs love to do.

And perhaps that is the most beautiful part of her story: Faith isn't defined by what happened to her.

Today, she is a cheerful, affectionate, and incredibly sweet girl who loves being around people. She enjoys attention, loves going for walks, and has a playful side that makes it very easy to forget just how difficult her beginning once was. Behind her distinctive little smile is simply a dog who wants everything other dogs want – love, companionship, adventures, and a home of her own.

Faith can be a little unsure around new people at first, and men in particular are not her favourites. When someone new comes into the house, she may bark for the first five minutes as she takes in the situation and gets used to their presence. With a little time and calm, thoughtful management, she settles down and soon shows her friendly side. Before long, she is happy to approach visitors and seek their attention, too. Once she feels comfortable, she can warm up to just about anyone.

Faith has already spent enough of her life being a patient. Now she deserves to simply be someone's dog.
Someone's walking companion. Someone's cuddle buddy. Someone waiting for them to come home.

Her past will always be part of her story, but it doesn't have to be her future.
Faith is ready for the chapter where she is no longer surviving – she is simply home.
